Welcome to "From The Desk of Gary King"

Welcome to my website.

My objective is to provide the public with timely information that is of interest to our City’s residents and taxpayers. I will update it whenever topics arise that will benefit from clarity and completeness…just the facts.

For those in the media and the public who are implying that my independent website is somehow in conflict with ICMA (International City/County Management Association) standards of conduct, or is inappropriate for a city manager…I say, think again. Many city and county managers routinely maintain websites, Facebook and Twitter accounts for communication with the public.

Web-based technologies and social media are quickly becoming a part of the fabric of our daily life and are here to stay! I have set up aTwitter account to let you know when an update has been posted. So, I hope you will find this site informative and that it will provide a convenient way to stay in touch with city matters.

Best regards,
